My wonderful clients

Why does it take a life changing moment, a ?not so good? prognosis from a Dr, or a tragic event for us to make lasting changes in our lives?

As a mother of 3 boys, providing good nutrition and keeping my children safe was a priority.

My husband and I participated in the WildFit program with Peta during winter 2021.? We both had our own different goals and motivations for participating ? mine was to see if I could find relief from migraines and of course a bit of weight loss wouldn?t go astray.? What I got from the program, through Peta?s gentle, patient and non-judgemental guidance was so much more than I had bargained for.? Peta?s ability to guide the group through a journey that explored their relationship with food was truly awesome to experience.? Her willingness to share her story gave me the confidence to share my own story with the group and as a result I learnt so much from everyone, which has helped me better understand myself and given me tools with which to move forward.?

Peta?s genuine interest and empathy for each member of the group gave me the determination to work through the challenge of making significant lifestyle changes, which have in many ways have transformed my life; far beyond the foods I eat. With Peta?s guidance I have made changes that have reduced inflammation throughout my entire body and I now have a better understanding of the ?why? when it comes to my food choices as well as the implications of those choices for my physical and mental health.? Peta?s dedication to research also means I am more aware of the impacts of my food?

In winter of 2021 my wife and I joined a group and completed the Wildfit 90 day challenge.

We both had goals we wanted to achieve with mine being based around making better lifestyle choices and then sustaining these post challenge.

The Wildfit programe has helped me achieve these goals by providing an environment in which I could learn.

Our coach Peta Davies made this learning environment a safe place where we felt comfortable, well supported by her knowledge and experiences.

With Peta?s assistance I found the staged approached to the challenge suited my learning style.

I was able to clearly understand the programme and successfully complete each stage.

This meant I was constantly achieving small goals and it made my journey through the challenge one filled with success.

The approach also means these learnings have become part of my lifestyle enabling me to maintain my better lifestyle choices post challenge.

I was like a grumpy old bear one day, I think I was like a bear with a sore head, but not my normal flighty bear. I was just a Grumpy Bear.

And on that same day, I jumped back on my swift bike downstairs (just to computerize road bike), and I punched out an hour and a quarter and I haven’t ridden a bike for I don’t know how many months, maybe six. And I’m not yet an hour and a quarter, which was probably a big task even when I was really, really fit. I found that really interesting. I did it easy and jumped off and felt good to the point that I’ll get on again over the weekend at some stage. The other thing to know is I hit a wall so got home from work

I traveledl most? of the state this week, it?s? been a busy week, up and down highways with a lot of client visits and I found (even to Nick?s surprise), I found myself listening more. Normally I provide solutions really early in a conversation.
That’s true. But this week I found I just had a lot more patience with my clients. I also had a lot more patience with myself in the meetings. Normally I’m just trying to get them over and get on to the next job. But I actually really enjoyed a lot of my client visits this week, more than I have probably over the last six months.

And I really felt that calmness you talked about before. Most of my challenges at work are internal, (external is easy), but dealing internally with a lot of credit departments and a lot of legal departments. You can get into some pretty deep and hard conversations and all of those I’ve handled this week like a new person, so no, it’s definitely been good for me. There’s no doubt about it.

I resolved to undertake the WildFit 90 Day Challenge for several reasons. Firstly, after many?conversations with Peta over the years about diet, health and the impact it has on lifestyle in general?and chronic ailments. ?

Seeing the benefits that Peta achieved and hearing about the very real positive impact it had on her?quality of life convinced me the programme would not be a waste of time and money and that I?would definitely get something out of it even if it just improved my knowledge. Secondly, over?recent years my husband and I had been focussing more on improving our health. As we age, we?become more aware of our mortality as people around us succumb to illness (some related to poor?diet and lifestyle, some not). ?

We work to live, not live to work and we have all lost friends and family too soon. We want to be?able to do our ?bucket list? adventures and if we cannot do them until retirement, then we want to?still be here for one and be in the best possible health once we reach that age so we can still achieve?them! Most of our wish list items are long distance walks. ?

Before WildFit we thought we ate healthy and we exercised for hours every week, but we were?overweight and frustrated. I got to a point where I had to give up racquet sports and martial arts due?to hip, knee and back pain. My greatest love is hiking so I gave up high impact activities ? but how do?you stay fit and healthy?! Enter WildFit.?

In short, the 90 Day Challenge was a revelation for both of us. I don?t want to wax lyrical or put you?off by being overzealous, but it changed our lives and more than 12 months later we are still living?WildFit everyday and loving it. We are both very happy with our weight, but more importantly we?are fit and healthy and maintain our fitness with less effort and time commitment and with low?impact activities. We complete hikes more comfortably and without days of muscles aches after the?fact! Our knees no longer complain and coupled with strengthening exercises I rarely suffer hip pain?anymore. We have consistent energy levels throughout the entire day and achieve more. We get the?best nights sleep we can ever remember enjoying. We easily drink at least 2L of water a day. I love?preparing food and meals now (I used to resent it and always went for what was quick and?convenient). We vanquished our sugar monsters, and we can recognise our emotional eating?(boredom and procrastination!). We are satiated after eating less as we only eat nutrient dense?food. ?

My back used to ache if I stood for even half an hour ? for example it would always ache after I?prepared dinner ? and now I haven?t had a backache for over a year! We would often suffer?digestive discomfort (without really realising, thinking it was normal) and now that doesn?t occur?unless we eat something out of the ordinary, so we are more in tune with what our bodies are trying?to tell us. Headaches are a thing of the past and menstrual cramps are greatly reduced meaning I?have not had to take any painkillers for over a year either. I have also fought off the hint of a?common cold twice in the last 12 months without it developing into a month-long coughing saga like?it always used to.?

We are not ?strict orthodox? WildFit, but we primarily eat fresh whole food which aligns with our eat?fresh and local ideals and we certainly live in one of the best places to access great food!?

Well I don?t know about everyone else, but I?m going through a miracle!

I?ve gone down dress sizes, lost six kilograms. I’ve got more energy than I?ve had for years.

And the breathing exercise are amazing. I’ve done breathing exercise before, but they?ve never really done anything or affected me the way these ones work. So the deep breathing exercise helps my whole body and really helps me push through.

So I’ve gone off all my stress medication.

I actually went off all my medication but when I went to the doctors he made me go back on the blood pressure tablets.? The only other thing that I want to really really fix is the fibromyalgia but I think it’s getting better because I’ve got more energy. But then I do too much and I just seem to make it flare up a bit. I feel better than I?ve felt in years.? I didn?t think I could ever feel like this again. So yeah, I feel like I’m going through a real miracle stage at the moment.

I reached out to Peta, to see what WildFit was all about. I have known Peta for years through our sport of Polocrosse, so I was happy with what information she could give me. I have struggled for over 15 years with headaches of all kinds. I woke with a headache every morning, whether it was a mild one or a migraine. So all the time I had a headache of some kind. This impacted my whole life, but I tried very very hard to function and do everything I wanted to do. But I was not happy with how I felt, how I reacted to things and people. I was becoming increasingly tired and stressed, my body just would not rest well of a night and I was looking back just a wreck. Not many knew it though, I would put on a brave face, medicate and go about my very busy active lifestyle. Our lives were 100% full on, and I eventually got to a point where I just couldn?t go anymore, although I was trying! Cue Peta and WildFit, I felt overweight, at 76 kgs, I felt so terrible I didn?t want to do anything. I was trying so hard to be involved in life but not enjoying it. I really can?t explain how badly I felt, in pain and crook and everything else! So after talking with Peta, I thought I would try WildFit. Well what an education I had! I had no idea what our food was actually doing to us! I just wanted to feel better, I thought we ate really well! Hardly any takeaway, I cooked veggies and meat every night, but I got a real shock to learn how I was cooking and what I was using was actually making me sick. I literally had no idea, at all!?

WildFit educated me on food, emotions, and a different way of thinking. It was a real journey. Now you must realise I had no will power when it came to biscuits, cake or chocolate or Allen?s mixed lollies (cheap ones would never do!) But through Wild fit and Peta?s help and coaching you actually don?t need willpower you need education and you need to see what food, can and has done. It was the best education I have ever done. WildFit and Peta took me on some very deep emotional paths about eating and why we eat what we do. It was thought provoking and interesting and made easier by Peta. I took my journey very seriously because I had come to a stage in my heath that I was very worried about my future. I used to carry medication on me, everywhere I went.? Every day I took Panadol, I took ibuprofen and migraine tablets. They went with me everywhere in my pockets. This was extreme. I now do not have headaches! At all!

WildFit is a must journey if you want to feel better improve your health and improve yourself. If you are happy with yourself great! If not WildFit and Peta?s guidance will help if you are serious about your health. There is a side effect, you lose weight as well! I lost 6 kgs, my husband lost 8 kgs. This is not a fad , this is a serious look at the how and why you feel like you do, the ways to change it and the support to do it! It is a way of life.
